ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer suggested President-Elect Joe Biden ask for more than $1.3 trillion dollars in COVID-19 relief.

According to Bloomberg, the two have discussed Biden's plans for his initial round of aid, which will likely include funding for vaccines, aid to state and local governments, increasing direct payments to $2,000 from the $600 approved last month and more unemployment-insurance support.

The transition team announced that the President-Elect is set to announce his economic rebuilding proposals Thursday night.

A $900 billion pandemic relief package was passed along with a $1.4 trillion catchall measure last month.
