ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — It's been exactly one year since the first case of COVID-19 was found in the United States.

Wednesday Gov. Andrew Cuomo said he's excited about what the new president and vice president will do for the states during this pandemic.

The governor, at the same time, slammed the Finger Lakes Region.

"When you look across the state by region by percent hospitalized, the Finger Lakes is still right up there," Cuomo said. "Finger Lakes that number's not going to change until the Finger Lakes changes that number. I don't know what else to say to them."

As of Wednesday night, 741 virus patients are hospitalized in the Finger Lakes region.

Monroe County's average positivity rate continues to drop slightly, at 6.3%.
