ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Low-risk high school winter sports are set to begin Monday.

Despite the fact that some school districts are in an Orange Zone, sports like skiing, swimming, indoor track and bowling can start as planned.

Local governments can still delay the seasons if they want.

Sports deemed high-risk like basketball, hockey, wrestling and cheerleading are delayed until at least Jan. 4.
